A celebration of the solo journey, SOLOFEST has been recognized as the largest solo festival on the West Coast. This year’s festival program offers premieres and audience favorite shows live on stage, with some available with a stream-on-demand option. SOLOFEST 2025, produced by Susan Simons and The Whitefire Theatre, is hosted by Bryan Rasmussen and Victoria Watson Winkler.
Solofest 2025 April Shows run April 3 through April 27.
The Whitefire Theatre and several individual solo artists will donate a portion of proceeds to the LAFD Foundation to support their work on California’s devastating fires.

Must Go On: A Rite of Passage is a solo show by Terrell M. Green, weaving theatre, yoga, African dance, spoken word, music, and video. This multimedia journey celebrates resilience, exploring coming out, recovery, and mental health through the lens of the Black Gay Male experience. Ages 18+

An autobiographical story, written and performed by Ruth Brandt and directed by Marc Hatfield. Ruth describes her journey from falling in love with her husband to falling in love with herself. The storytelling is filled with both poignancy and comedy. Ruth is happier now than ever before, and she would like to thank both her ex-husband for the divorce, and her three young adult kids for pushing her to take chances. The best is yet to come. In this dark roller coaster comedy bar crawl, Ruth shares dark comic monologues, interwoven with characters he’s encountered while working and drinking in the bars and dives of pre-Giuliani NYC. Written and performed by Dan Ruth. Directed by Tanya Moberly. 18+

This solo show follows a new mom as she comes to grips with the death of her own mother. It’s a story that embraces the forgiveness and the strength it takes to find happiness even after tragedy. The path to motherhood opens old wounds and weaves through grief, addiction and the bond between mothers and daughters. Finding humor in these heavy topics is essential. Written and performed by Melissa Lugo, directed by Paul Millet and produced by Michael Perl. Ages 16+

MANNING’S MADHOUSE
Manning’s Madhouse is an emotional, spiritual and psychological romp through Alice’s childhood, growing up in the 60s in Cleveland, Ohio. Life was at times traumatic, and hilarious. Alice combines memories with historical events, while revealing the sibling relationship that shaped her life. Her acting résumé includes multiple appearances across film, television, radio shows, and commercials. She is featured in Carl Reiner’s Book, Now I’m 84, where he describes her as a “gifted monologist.” Ages 14+

HOW TO FIND A HUSBAND IN 37 YEARS OR LONGER
JJ finds herself accidentally, unfortunately home for Xmas and stuck in a little pick-up truck with her Dad, driving to see her sister’s new house (that’s being built) just outside of Mellott, Indiana, a small town in the middle of nowhere where everything is surrounded by cornfields. In this unconscious search for acceptance and emancipation, a tale is told through their conversation and memories, revealing criminal activity, dysfunctional family cycles, heartbreak…and hope. James Stellos portrays a kaleidoscope of characters in his one-person play. At a personal crossroads, Ulysses, an Uber driver, embarks on a yearlong odyssey through the streets of Los Angeles. Along the way, he picks up a tapestry of riders. And their chance meetings–conjuring humor, hopes, and horrors–may help both driver and riders find their way on the road ahead.
